Google has made some drastic changes on the first page for the keyword “SEO Company”. Many of the top companies online who ranked for SEO Company no longer reside on the 1st page. While Google announced that they were making changes for websites that “over” optimize their web site, no one within the SEO industry saw this coming.
It is hard enough getting to the first page for the most competitive keyword in our industry and Google is making a statement that it is even harder to maintain those rankings. It will be interesting to see if some of the companies kicked off the first page ever recover.
Some of the most notable companies who have been there for years now reside on the 6th, 7th, and even 8th page.
